International Jetsetter

I've jumped from the frying pan into the fire with my new job. Last summer, I agreed to become project manager in the Americas for the new Lufthansa joint venture/alliance with Air Canada, Continental, and United. In January, my boss was asked take over global sales responsibilities for the project and kick butt because the other four divisions (Germany, Europe, Middle East/Africa, and Asia) have done nothing to get ready for implementation of the program on November 1, 2009. That means he has the authority and I have the responsibility (translated as he gets the glory and I do the work). Consequently, I have been doing things like flying to London on Tuesday night for an all day meeting on Wednesday, fly to Frankfurt for meetings on Thursday, take a bus to Seeheim for a meeting on Friday morning, take a taxi to Frankfurt for a meeting on Friday afternoon, and fly back Friday evening. ET is not a happy camper.
